What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

Today’s WordPress prompt was: ‘What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?’

Prior to 25th April of this year, I’d have answered: ‘a sense of humour.’ The ability to laugh, even in the bleakest of situations, ranks higher than a phone or wallet or car keys, in my opinion.

However, NOW, following my Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the most important thing I carry is my ‘Patient Identification Card’ which shows first responders and medical staff that I have a defibrillator implant fitted.

Oh yeah … a ‘sense of humour’ and my ‘Sudden Cardiac Arrest.’ Funny I should mention them together … and I’m led to believe from reviews, it IS funny. And poignant. And so appreciative.

What is?

This!

My latest ‘short-read’ book, (available from ALL Amazon stores) describing my thoughts, emotions and reactions to the amazing series of coincidental events that led to me being one of the 8% who survive an ‘out of hospital’ cardiac arrest.

Hey! I know I kinda crammed that wee plug in there, but in this business, you’ve gotta make the most of any smidgeon of an opportunity that presents itself. 😉

  1. Hey man, sorry to hear about the cardiac arrest. Hope you are on the mend. I’m recently dealing with heart issues so your post hit close to home. If you can, still keep the sense of humor in your back pocket. It always comes in handy when you need it the most!
