What do I wish I could do more every day? Well, keeping it clean and sensible, I really do wish I could do some more writing.

Yes – I know I’m ‘writing’ now – duh! But I mean ‘writing‘ writing. Like as in book writing.

I think I may have dropped into our blog-conversations before … what’s that? You know what’s coming? Oh, right, I have mentioned it. How many times? Ah. I see. Ok, no need to mention the three books I’ve already written. Okay. Right you are.

Anyway – I have plans for another. Well, three actually, and I’m at the first edit stage of one. The problem I have though, is that this time I decided do a proper launch. Rather than just format it and bang it up on Amazon as I’ve done in the past, I thought I’d do some proper research; maybe even plan a little bit of a marketing budget. (A ‘little bit’ of a marketing budget looks to be more fictional than the contents of my prospective book, I’m now discovering.)

Apparently, marketing starts three months before launch-day. Social media activity should be stepped up across all platforms, teasing and hopefully generating anticipation.

Seems reasonable.

But combined with work, family, sporting commitments, and falling asleep at the drop of a hat, I’m finding it difficult to apportion time to writing.

Today, for instance: I wasted goodness knows how much time putting together a rather embarrassing and pathetic video for Tik Tok. The idea was to hopefully attract viewers to this blog.

#fail, it seems.

And I’m not really surprised. It was only my third attempt on that social media platform, but I’m quickly learning I have a face more suited for radio. And a voice better suited for Mime School.

It’s even debatable whether I have the dictionary vokab words for being an author.

So – now I’ve reverted to good ol’ WordPress, and will share this on Facebook and maybe even ‘X.’ Apparently I should also be doing some stuff on Instagram, too.

All this time on social media is meant to help me sell books. I understand.

But with a proposed early-summer launch looming, it’s looking more likely this book will be as thin as I’m evidently spreading myself.

Please sir, I want more time for writing.
