I’ve just heard an advert on the radio for Asda, in which they proudly boast of having Valentine’s Day cards for sale at 28p! (That’s @ $0.35)

I know times are hard, and it’ll be a help for some men struggling for cash. I know it’s  the thought that counts.

I know also the card will just end up in the bin on the 16th or 17th February.

But most importantly, I know too that any blokes giving this card to their wife or girlfriend best make doubly sure the price sticker has been removed before handing it over!

Ironically, the very next advertiser went with the hook, ‘Spoil the one you love this Valentine’s Day.’

There will be plenty of that going on, I’m sure – I can only hope Asda have a rather hefty compensation fund set aside for all thosew soon-to-be ‘spoiled’ husbands and boyfriends they are encouraging into their Greeting Card aisle!
