This episode covers three territories: music, memory, and movement; the complicated relationship between a blogger and the platforms that carry his words; and a very short poem about a man, a lawn, and a vodka.

You tried the podcast from WP! 🤔

Yeah. It was pretty straight forward. And I believe better editing tools are soon coming – like altering the tone of delivery, and hopefully also the accent.
All good fun at the moment.

I create my podcast entirely on my phone. I put them together through GarageBand, and host them through Spotify for Creators.
WordPress makes it really easy to share / embed podcasts through your post, obviously.

Yeah – I’d like to do more and become more involved. Do you get more listens to your podcasts than readers of your blog?

No, unfortunately, for me, my podcast doesn’t get a ton of listeners. In fact, I feel like if anything, it pulls more people to my blog.
But at the same time, I do think of myself more as a walker than I do a podcast.
I don’t know maybe if I was to narrow my podcast a little bit more toward a certain niche, I might get more traffic. But it’s just like my blog. I talk about whatever is on my mind.

Good point in the niche aspect. I was all geared up to do a sport combined music podcast some years ago. We had a now well known radio presenter lined up and it was co hosted with a member from a well known band. We produced a pilot, interviewing an even better known 80s musician (let’s just say, it needed refining) but the presenter then started to get more national radio work and one of my colleagues hosts became seriously unwell. So it never got off the ground.
it was all very interesting and exciting though. 😀
