A Waste of Time, per-apps?

I SHOULD OPEN BY STATING THAT Ceeteejackson.com IS THE SOLE AUTHORIZED HOME OF MY WRITING.

I have ninety-nine ‘apps’ on my phone. I counted.

Of them I’d say I know what a dozen are actually capable of. I’ll maybe use half of those ones now and then, perhaps when I’m bored, leaving six I’ll visit more frequently.

So, the likes of the BBC Weather app, I’ll check each morning. It would probably be quicker and even more simple just to draw back the curtains and look out the window, but hey – I’m a modern kinda guy. I move with the times, and all that.

While having breakfast, I’ll check out The Times, the daily newspaper I have an online subscription for. I’m not sure why I bother actually. I’ll have heard ‘the news’ via the radio as I get ready for the day, so I’ll likely only read the sports section. And being a London based ‘paper’ it carries very little on Scottish sport. Truth be told, I could probably save myself about £30 a month by ditching this ‘app.’ But for the time being it does get opened on a daily basis, making it one of the most frequently visited.

Because I’m now officially a ‘pickleball obsessive’ I’ll open, read /watch what the Pickleball Scotland, and Selkirk TV apps have to offer.

My Kindle ‘app’ is also frequently opened. I have so many books / comic books stashed away in there, I could quite happily get lost in that virtual library for days.

But the ‘app’ that takes up most of my screen time is this one … WordPress.

I’ll read and comment on many of the blogs to which I subscribe; I’ll prepare posts for the three blogs I run myself … before my OCD kicks off and I’m compelled to spend the rest of the day checking the number of ‘visits’ I’ve had in the past ten minutes.

See, I’ve got 99 problems, but this ain’t one of them. WordPress is my greatest screentime distraction. (Now that’s got to guarantee an inclusion on the ‘Freshly Pressed’ selection, surely? 😉🤣)

      Yeah – I’m not too bothered about my posts being copied either. I certainly don’t mind, and in fact really appreciate genuine re-posts. It’s just those scammers possibly using my work to help them make money. 🙂

  5. I think it’s probably pretty fair to say that a lot of us on here use WordPress more than any other app. I know that’s true for me.

    However, I do feel that the time I spend here in WordPress is a lot more constructive than the time that I spend on, let’s say, TikTok.
