I SHOULD OPEN BY STATING THAT Ceeteejackson.com IS THE SOLE AUTHORIZED HOME OF MY WRITING.
I thought today, I’d write something unusual for this blog: something ‘serious.’ Well, kinda. But don’t worry, I’ll keep it brief.
I’ve never been one to lose complete faith with humanity. I tend see good in most people.
However, had I harbored any subconscious negative attitudes towards my fellow Earth inhabitants, they would have been dispelled following my cardiac arrest three years ago. My brief (ten minutes) death was a very public affair that attracted much media coverage.
Ten weeks after the event, I had to return to work (petcare professional / dog walker) and I was blown away with the kindness shown to me by total strangers.
A taxi driver said he witnessed the police administering CPR on that fateful day, and told me he and his pal had been praying for me. Now, I’m not religious in the traditional sense, but I was almost in tears when he told me this. (One after-effect of the SCA was I became, still am, a lot more emotional than before. Jings! I blubber now just at the sight of the Andrex puppy, for goodness sake.)
When walking dogs along the beautiful country lanes and fields, other walkers would stop and ask how I was. They’d seen my story in the papers / television and were genuinely kind in their wishes. Over the next few weeks, I’d bump into several of them on a regular basis and we’d always stop for a chat.
I didn’t really need my faith in people restored, but the calamity that befell me on 25th April 2023 absolutely reinforced my belief that we humans are inherently kind and caring beings.
(It’s just a shame there are so many ‘high profile’ dicks out there intent on testing that theory!)
😉🤣

My husband had the same experience with overwhelming emotion after his triple bypass. It’s a very odd, but very common, side effect.
And yes, there ARE good and decent people out there. They just don’t make as much noise as the *ssholes.

It is strange. I’m not as bad as I was initially, but even ‘happy tears’ have the knack of sneaking up on me these days! 😂
It does make it awkward when talking about something that’s made me feel chuffed. But I’m cool with it – kinda small price to pay, eh? 😉

My husband is the same way. Choked up easily now.
And it’s been 10 years since his surgery.

Thanks – it really is quite touching.
My (non-league) football club won a ‘double’ that season. I missed several games towards the end of the season. (I’m a member, not a player. I think my best days are about 45 years behind me 😉)
However, other supporters rallied and organised for me to be able to get to the final match of the season, after which the team was presented with the League trophy. (Two days earlier, the manager messaged me to say that if I was still unfit to come along, he’d arrange for a few players plus himself to come to my house with the trophies so I could feel part of it all.)
When the supporters were all on the pitch at the end, celebrating with the players, the players themselves started a chant of MY name! It was VERY hard to keep my shit together that afternoon. 😂
