Named and Famed.

What? A tad too pretentious? Really?

As it happens, in India, I have been honoured and my name has already been immortalized. It’s amazing just how far-reaching and popular this wee blog of mine has become! 😉 😀

Firstly there’s this. Who wants buildings or streets or parks named after them, when they can have … a window-cleaning spray?

And wait! That’s not all. Some months ago, I visited the Himalaya shop in Margao, Goa. They have all sorts of wonderful creams and gels. Hey – looking this good comes at a price, my friend. 😉 😀
Anyway, I saw this and was tickled to see it too carried my name (my proper name, Colin.)

I showed my wife, and we laughed and took the photograph. I noticed the two young ladies behind the counter eying me suspiciously. Perhaps they thought I was going to do a runner with the product. So I approached them to explain what amused me.

“Colin. See? This is my name. I’m Colin.”
Neither of the assistants spoke much English, and I don’t either Hindi or Konkan.
“What is this?” I queried. The tone of my voice seemed to work. They smiled at each other and one pulled a great big tome of a book from a drawer.

She flicked through the pages then said in stilted, broken English:

“For man to go long time in bedroom.”

There was a discernable pause in the conversation while both the assistant an I competed to see who could look more embarrassed, before we all laughed and my wife and I made our sheepish exit.

And no. I didn’t buy any. No need. 😀 😀 😀
